Digital System Design Simplified
As we all know digital systems process discrete signals. Most fundamental component of these digital systems is a transistor and its derived components are logic gates. At the time of finishing our graduation, we are familiar with these basic components. As a working professional we use these concepts to design/implement complex digital systems. “ClocktoQ” discusses these basic components and slowly builds the concepts to design complex digital systems.
Digital integrated circuit design, the lowest level of abstraction (design with CMOS transistors) in designing digital systems is discussed under Digital IC Design. A slightly higher level of abstraction (design with gates) is dicussed under Digital Logic Design.

CAD for VLSI
Design is an activity that includes planning, problem solving and producing. In-the same manner, design of electronic circuits is planned at many different refinement levels, starting from the most detailed layout to the most abstract architectures. As the complexity of electronic circuits (very large scale Integrated circuits (VLSI)) is increasing day-to-day, Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies are inevitable to aid the design at each step of producing VLSI circuits, as manual design techniques are no longer reasonable.
As an initial step, under CAD for VLSI, we start discussing hardware description languages and then their implementation using programmable logic devices and ASICs.

We bring to you our expertise and knowledge.
We would like to introduce ourselves as working professionals from various companies in VLSI domain. We completed post graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
When we started our career, we were often googling for the information. Most of the times, we used to get a solution for our doubts from various sites in bits n pieces. Sometimes it was even hard to find a solution. From then we started thinking of a live-book concept, which provides information on design and verification experiences from our friends, making it a one-stop reference to various domains. Thus, the collective effort from us is organised as “clocktoq.com” intended to set a platform to designers for discussing various topics.
